UPDATE: A 25-year-old man has been arrested in this case. The Circuit Attorney’s Office has issued charges of Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.
UPDATE: The 24-year-old man, who has been hospitalized since August 23, died on August 29. The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and found the cause of death to be related to a gunshot wound to the man’s neck, thus declaring the manner of death a homicide. He has been identified as Darion Reed of St. Louis City, MO.

On August 23, 2025 at approximately 4pm, District 2 officers responded to a shooting at S. Kingshighway and Connecticut. When they arrived, they located a 24-year-old man being treated by EMS outside of his vehicle. The 24-year-old man had been shot.
Witnesses on scene stated the 24-year-old victim had just left the QT on S. Kingshighway and Fyler moments before the incident. The witnesses stated as they pulled out of the QT, they saw the victim’s car stopped on S. Kingshighway and realized he had been shot.
The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in critical, but stable condition.
