On January 16, 2025, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) Chief Robert Tracy joined Lieutenant Paul Lauer as Lt. Lauer was sworn in as the Chapter President for the FBI National Academy Associates for the Eastern Missouri Chapter.
The FBINAA is a non-profit, international organization of 14,000+ senior law enforcement professionals dedicated to providing our communities, states, countries, and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, training, education and information.
Lt. Lauer currently serves as the commander for SLMPD’s Traffic Safety Division and is a 34-year veteran of the SLMPD. Lt. Lauer is also a second-generation police officer with his father retiring from the SLMPD as a Lieutenant Colonel and his older brother retiring as a Lieutenant. Both attended the FBI National Academy during their career and are past presidents of the Eastern MO Chapter of the FBINAA.
Lt. Paul Lauer has been a member of the FBINAA since October of 2017 and was elected by his peers to the position of “Sergeant at Arms” in 2021.
