Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 26-year-old man dead on November 23, 2025 in Benton Park West.
Around 5:35 p.m., officers received calls about a shooting in the 2800 block of Cherokee. Upon arriving, they located the 26-year-old man who had been shot. The suspect, a 27-year-old man, remained at the scene and was taken into custody.
A preliminary investigation suggests the 26-year-old victim was driving when he sideswiped the 27-year-old suspect’s car before being shot by the suspect. EMS transported the 26-year-old man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
