Major Janice Bockstruck

Commander – Bureau of PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Major Janice Bockstruck is a second generation St Louis Police Officer who has served the City of St Louis and this agency for over 35 years.

She has held positions in the South, Central and North Patrol Divisions, Juvenile Division, Narcotics Division, Human Resources/Recruitment, Community Outreach and Organizational Development, Special Operations, Specialized Enforcement and Hostage Response Team.

Major Bockstruck also commanded the Weed and Seed Grant which is a Police/Community based grant focused on improving the quality of life of the Citizens within the boundaries of the grant project.  Major Bockstruck has been awarded 3 Awards of Excellence, 8 Chief’s Letters of Commendation and 1 Meritorious Service Citation during her career.

Major Bockstruck truly believes that listening skills are the most important part of communication.   “We must Actively listen to Effectively serve our community”.  She has dedicated her career to listening to the needs of the Community to better serve and build bridges of understanding.

She currently serves as Deputy Commander of the Bureau of Professional Standards.  This bureau consists of Internal Affairs, Body Camera Unit, Secondary Employment Unit and the Force Investigation Unit.
