Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) detectives were notified by the Real Time Crime Center of a stolen white Acura ILX driving in the area of Tucker and Spruce shortly after 12:00 a.m. on July 27.
ACTF detectives monitored the vehicle until it eventually parked in the 300 block of N. 22nd.
A 24-year-old man exited the driver seat of the vehicle, and a 19-year-old man exited the front passenger seat. The driver was armed with a handgun and the passenger was armed with an AR pistol.
As ACTF detectives approached both men, they both fled on foot, dropping their firearms. Both men were eventually caught and arrested after foot pursuits. Both weapons were recovered, a Glock pistol and a pistol grip American Tactical AR15.
Other ACTF detectives approached the Acura ILX and found a 23-year-old man attempting to crawl out of the rear of the vehicle who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. ACTF detectives also noted ballistic damage to the driver side of the vehicle.
A third firearm was located underneath the Acura ILX, a pistol grip Anderson AR15, which was also recovered.
EMS transported the 23-year-old man to an area hospital where he was listed in critical/stable condition. It is not known at this time where the shooting occurred.
The investigation is ongoing.
