Man shot in Holly Hills

District 1 is investigating a shooting that happened on December 6 just after 3:00 a.m. in 5500 block of S 37th Street.

A 20-year-old man arrived at the South Patrol Division with a gunshot wound to the leg.  

The 20-year-old man told officers there was a black sedan parked in the middle of the street at the above location. He honked his horn, and the driver of the black sedan exited the car. The 20-year-old man exited his car, and the man shot one round into the air. The man then shot another round striking the 20-year-old man in the leg.

The 20-year-old man ran away to a nearby friend’s house who drove him to South Patrol Division. Officers responded to the 5500 block of S 37th and located a scene.

EMS responded and transported the 20-year-old to a nearby hospital where he was listed as stable.

The investigation is ongoing.
