Protesters arrested after interrupting Pride parade

Just before 1 p.m., protesters interrupted the annual St. Louis Pride parade on Market Street. 

At the request of parade organizers, SLMPD Commanders gave orders for the demonstrators to disperse. Three warnings were given to the protesters before arrests were made.

Protesters’ arms were connected by chains inside of PVC pipe. SLMPD requested assistance from the St. Louis Fire Department to respond and used an assortment of saws to cut through the pipes and chains extricating the individuals. 

A total of 19 people were taken into custody. Of the 19 people arrested, 11 were arrested on trespassing and resisting and eight were arrested on trespassing. 

There were no injuries reported.
