District 1 officers responded to a Shooting in the 3800 block of Neosho just before 1:00 a.m. on June 29.
Witnesses told officers that several people were gathered in the rear yard of a residence when 2 black men wearing ski masks entered the yard. One of the men had 2 handguns and they announced a robbery.
As one of the men was going through peoples’ pockets, the armed man stood behind the victim, a 42-year-old Hispanic man, with the guns pointed at the man.
At some point a shot was fired and the 42-year-old man was shot. Both suspects ran away on foot.
EMS transported the 42-year-old man to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
