ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) Chief Robert J. Tracy will represent the Major Cities Chiefs Association for a Congressional Briefing in Washington D.C. to provide critical insight on how law enforcement solves violent crime using the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN).
NIBIN plays a critical role in SLMPD and law enforcement gun crime investigations across the country as detectives and forensic scientists connect and link ballistic evidence from shootings and identifying links between incidents and criminal networks. NIBIN enables state and local agencies to share ballistic evidence across regions, helping link cases, identify suspects, and prevent shootings.
The Congressional Briefing is scheduled to take place Friday, March 7, 2025, from 12 p.m. ET – 1 p.m. ET at the Rayburn House Office Building.
The law enforcement panel includes SLMPD Chief Robert J. Tracy, Superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension & President of the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) Drew Evans, Orange County (FL) Sheriff John W. Mina and retired ATF Chief of Staff Daniel Board.
