District 6 is investigating an accident and shots fired incident that occurred around 2:30 a.m. on March 24, 2025 at North Broadway & Calvary Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Granite City, IL and Madison County, IL police departments were pursuing a vehicle that initiated in their jurisdiction. The pursuit continued into the City of St. Louis and culminated at North Broadway & Calvary Avenue. While at that location, the suspect vehicle intentionally struck Madison County and Granite City police vehicles.
A Granite City Police Officer discharged his weapon at the suspect vehicle, but the suspect was able to escape from the scene. The suspect was not injured. No officers were injured. The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male with a goatee, wearing all black clothing, and occupying a white pickup truck.
The SLMPD Force Investigation Unit was requested. The early investigation revealed the incident did not involve any City personnel and no suspect was injured, thus the ongoing investigation will be handled by the 6th District Detective Bureau.
