Woman Robbed in Skinker DeBaliviere Neighborhood

District 5 is investigating a robbery that occurred on August 13 in the Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers on patrol were flagged down by a 29-year-old woman who reported being robbed around 10:17 p.m. The woman told officers she was sitting at a bus stop at Delmar & DeBaliviere when a red vehicle traveling on DeBaliviere stopped at the intersection. The woman said a male suspect exited the vehicle, approached her, and then produced a handgun while demanding her purse. The victim relinquished her purse and the suspect fled after the incident.

While investigating, the victim’s phone pinged to the 5500 block of Maple. Officers responded to that location and located the victim’s phone and other property, and they were returned to the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
