Around 7 p.m. on October 8, 2025, District 5 officers were called to a shooting in the 5900 block of Wells Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they located multiple people with gunshot wounds. Officers were also notified by a hospital of an additional victim that was privately transported.
A preliminary investigation reveals a group of individuals approached a balloon release event for the victim of a recent homicide when gunfire erupted.Â
Five men were injured during an apparent exchange of gunfire.Â
Angelo Davis, 18, was shot multiple times and died at the hospital. The family of Davis has been notified.
Four other men, ages 30, 33, 21 and 20 were also shot. The 21-year-old man is listed in critical unstable condition.
At this point in the investigation, detectives are working to identify any gunshot victims who may also be suspects.
One firearm was recovered from the scene.
