1 Shot, 1 Stabbed During Argument in Wells-Goodfellow

Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting/stabbing incident that left one man dead and another injured on July 29 in Wells-Goodfellow.

At approximately 7:25 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting in the parking lot of Wendy’s Restaurant in the 3400 block of Union Blvd. Upon arriving, officers located a 28-year-old man on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds. A second man, 52, was located nearby suffering from gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation revealed the two men, who are coworkers at Wendy’s, got involved in an argument over personal matters with each other while inside the business. The argument turned physical and moved outside the restaurant and onto the parking lot. During the physical altercation, the 52-year-old man stabbed the 28-year-old man, and the 28-year-old man shot the 52-year-old man.

EMS responded and transported the 28-year-old man to the hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm and knife were recovered by officers at the scene.
