District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a 13-year-old boy injured on February 10 in the 5700 block of Goodfellow Place.
Shortly after 11:05 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at an apartment complex at the location. Upon arriving, they located the 13-year-old inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.
The 13-year-old was unable to provide a statement. However, a preliminary investigation revealed the 13-year-old was inside of his residence when gunshots were fired from outside. No other injuries were reported.
EMS responded and transported the 13-year-old to the hospital where he was listed in critical/stable condition1. The investigation is ongoing.
