UPDATE: The teen has been identified as Elijah Hughes of St. Louis City.
On July 11, 2025 just before 10:30AM, district 6 officers responded to a call for a shooting at Lillian and Beacon. When officers arrived, they located a 16-year-old boy who had been shot multiple times.
The 16-year-old was transported to the hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed the 16-year-old was riding his bike near Lillian and Genevieve when he was shot. The 16-year-old then ran to Lillian and Beacon where he was located by officers.
The Homicide Unit was requested and is handling the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.
