18-year-old Shot in Wells-Goodfellow

District 5 is investigating a shooting that happened on August 22, 2025 in the 5800 block of Kennerly Avenue.

Shortly before 12:15 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the location. Upon arriving, officers located a crashed Pontiac vehicle at the intersection of Goodfellow & Kennerly. Officers then located an 18-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, an 18-year-old female approached officers relative to this incident.

Officers are working to determine the full circumstances of the incident. However, a preliminary investigation revealed the two 18-year-olds were driving in the Pontiac, which was revealed to have been stolen, when the shooting happened. An investigation into the circumstances of the stolen Pontiac remains ongoing.

The 18-year-old male was transported to the hospital for treatment. He was listed in critical but stable condition.
