District 3 is investigating a carjacking that occurred during the early hours of August 20 in Soulard.
The victim, a 19-year-old male, told officers he was in the 2100 block of S. 12th Street around 12:30 a.m. looking for an address to deliver food when an unknown male suspect approached his car. The suspect produced a handgun and ordered the victim to exit his car. The victim said the suspect then took his keys from his waistband. The victim fled to a nearby gas station for help after the incident.
The suspect fled in the victim’s 2008 Audi A4. The victim was not injured. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with a tip about this incident who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible reward for their tip can contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
