19-year-old Critical After Walnut Park West Shooting

Homicide Detectives are handling a shooting investigation that left a 19-year-old in critical condition on August 20, 2025.

Shortly after 4 p.m., officers received a call about a 19-year-old male shooting victim that was dropped off at a hospital in a white sedan. The white sedan fled after dropping off the teen but was involved in an accident with another vehicle at Kingshighway Boulevard & Laclede Avenue. Three suspects, a 17-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and a 19-year-old, were taken into custody from the white sedan. Officers seized firearms, as well as suspected narcotics from the suspects.

The 19-year-old male shooting victim was listed in critical and unstable condition at the hospital. Due to his condition, the Homicide Division was requested to assume the investigation.

The driver of the vehicle the suspects struck was taken to a hospital where she was listed in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the origin of the shooting occurred in the 6000 block of Emma Avenue. Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
