District 5 is investigating a robbery that left a 19-year-old injured around 10:40 p.m. on December 9 at Des Peres Avenue & Westminister Place.
The 19-year-old told officers he had just left his significant other’s home and was walking north on Des Peres when an unknown male approached him with a small sharp object, believed to be a pocketknife. The 19-year-old said the suspect mumbled some words before saying “wallet.” At that point, the 19-year-old said the man stabbed him and then snatched his backpack.
The suspect rummaged through the 19-year-old’s backpack before discarding it in a nearby grassy area. The 19-year-old sustained a small puncture wound but declined medical attention. His backpack was located and returned to him. The investigation is ongoing.
