District 5 officers responded to a Shooting in the 2400 block of Union around 6:15 p.m. on August 17.
Officers arrived to find a scene of a shooting and were advised that the victims left on their own to go to a hospital.
A 39-year-old man, who had been shot in the leg, attempted to drive himself to the hospital. He was involved in a single vehicle crash in the 1500 block of Union where he struck a building. EMS responded and transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A 33-year-old man was privately driven to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his buttocks. He was listed in stable condition.
