District 5 is investigating a carjacking that happened shortly after midnight on March 13, 2025.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., a 41-year-old man responded to the North Patrol Division to report this incident. The man told officers that sometime between midnight and 2 a.m., he was sitting in his son’s grey 2009 Pontiac G8 in the 5800 block of Wells Avenue when two unknown male suspects approached. The 41-year-old man said the suspects stood on both sides of the vehicle with handguns.
The 41-year-old man said the suspects ordered him out of the Pontiac, to which he complied. The man said both suspects then entered the vehicle and drove off with his possessions still inside. He was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
