Man Shot in Walnut Park West

District 6 is investigating a shooting that happened on April 7, 2025 at Floy & Leonora Avenues.

At approximately 2:57 p.m., officers received a call relative to a man that was shot in the leg. Upon arriving at Flora & Leonora, officers located a vehicle with ballistic damage.

A preliminary investigation revealed a 46-year-old man, a 35-year-old man and a 15-year-old male were driving in their car on Leonora approaching Floy when they were struck by a gray vehicle. The 46-year-old man said when he exited his car after the accident, an unknown male nearby that observed the accident yelled it was his sister that was involved in the accident and then fired gunshots in the 46-year-old man’s direction.

The 46-year-old man was struck in the leg by the gunfire and transported to the hospital for treatment. The 35-year-old man and 15-year-old male were not injured during the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
