District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old male injured on April 9, 2025 in the 5600 block of Pershing.
Shortly after 11 a.m. on April 10, 2025, officers responded to a call from a St. Louis County hospital after the 17-year-old responded there for treatment of a gunshot wound to his hand.
The 17-year-old told officers that around 11 p.m. on April 9, he was walking westbound in the 5600 block of Pershing when he heard gunshots. The teen said he started running after hearing the shots and then felt a burning pain in his finger. He said he did not see who was shooting.
The teen said he flagged down a friend who took him home after being shot. The teen was privately conveyed to a hospital the next day on April 10. The investigation is ongoing.
