UPDATE: Great Southern Bank Robbed, Suspect Flees with Money (PHOTOS)

District 1 detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on June 25 in the Carondelet neighborhood.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., officers received call for a “Hold Up Alarm” at the Great Southern Bank located at 940 Loughborough Ave. An investigation revealed a male suspect entered the bank and inquired about opening an account. While a teller was assisting the suspect, he handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect took the money and fled from the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’0″ tall, thin-build, and was wearing black shorts with white designs, a white t-shirt, black sunglasses, a crossbody bag, white socks, black and white tennis shoes, and a black bucket hat.

No injuries were reported from this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
