District 4 officers responded to a call for a Shooting-Just Occurred in the 1400 block of Melvin E. Collins Walkway just after midnight on June 29. A 15-year-old male was found there with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
The 15-year-old told officers he was walking in the 1200 block of Bryant when he heard gunshots and felt pain to his leg. He ran to the Melvin E. Collins Walkway location.
EMS transported the 15-year-old to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
No scene could be located on Bryant. Around the time of this incident, a ShotSpotter call was received in the 1800 block of O’Fallon.
The exact location of occurrence for this incident is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
