District 5 is investigating a shooting that injured a 34-year-old man and a dog on July 10 in the Kingsway West neighborhood.
Around 5:20 a.m., officers were called to the 5300 block of Labadie and located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim advised that around 5 a.m., he was involved in an argument over a car with a known male suspect. During the argument, the victim stated the suspect produced a firearm and fired shots, striking the victim him in the leg and the victim’s relative’s dog in the paw.
EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The dog was transported to a veterinarian hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
