District 5 detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on July 15 in the Academy neighborhood.
Shortly after 1:35 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at Suburban Tracks & N. Kingshighway. Upon arriving, they located a 33-year-old man on the ground near the 5000 block of Kensington suffering from gunshot wounds to his abdomen. The victim refused to cooperate with officers and would only say he heard gunshots then felt pain. EMS transported the victim to the hospital where he was listed in critical/unstable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
