District 4 is investigating a stabbing incident that left a man injured on July 23 in the Downtown West neighborhood.
Shortly after 9:45 p.m., officers were called to a local hospital after a 37-year-old man was dropped off by EMS with a wound to his chest. It was initially believed the victim was shot; however, it was determined he had been stabbed. The victim was unable to provide a statement to officers due to being sedated for treatment. He was listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation suggests the victim was likely involved in a physical confrontation with an unknown individual at N. 13th & Olive Streets when he was stabbed.
