District 5 is investigating a shooting that injured a 20-year-old man on August 8 in the Wells / Goodfellow neighborhood.
At approximately 9 a.m., officers were called to the Arlington Grove Apartments in the 5500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. for a shooting. Upon arriving, they located the victim with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The victim told officers he was outside in the walkway of the apartment complex when a 34-year-old suspect known to the area began shooting at him unprovoked. The suspect was located still on scene and taken into custody.
EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
