Investigators have identified the deceased man as 28-year-old Deyvin Herrera Perez of the 3300 block of Potomac.

District 4 officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 44 westbound near Convention Plaza around 7:00 p.m. on August 14.
Preliminary investigations indicates that an unidentified man had just completed changing a tire on a gray Chevrolet HHR that was on the right shoulder of the interstate. A white GMC Terrain was parked behind the HHR.
The unidentified man was standing outside of the GMC Terrain when a white Volvo Tractor Trailer struck the man and both parked vehicles.
The unidentified man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Volvo Tractor Trailer is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and assumed the ongoing investigation.
