District 4 officers responded to a Carjacking-Just Occurred in the 900 block of S. Grand around 11:45 a.m. on August 17.
A 26-year-old male told officers that he met a subject he only knew by nickname to possibly sell his 2013 Ford Mustang. While discussing the possible sale, the subject produced a firearm and stole the Mustang.
Around 12:25 p.m. District 5 officers spotted the stolen Mustang and attempted to pull it over. The Mustang fled and a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit ended when the Mustang crashed in the 5300 block of Terry. Three individuals ran from the Mustang. A 16-year-old was taken into custody with the assistance of a Police K9 after a foot pursuit.
The other two individuals made good their escape.
The 16-year-old was conveyed to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash and apprehension.
The investigation is ongoing.
