Woman Injured During Shooting in Dutchtown

District 3 is investigating a shooting that injured a 31-year-old woman on September 4 in the Dutchtown neighborhood.

Shortly after 3:50 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting in the area of Nebraska Avenue & Osage Street. Upon arrival, they located the 31-year-old woman sitting on the ground suffering from an injury to her abdomen.

The woman told officers that around 3:45 a.m., she was walking her dog in the alley of the 2900 block of Osage when two masked men approached her in a pick-up truck. The woman said the men argued with her because they believed she stole their bike. During the argument, the woman said the men fired shots at her.

The woman was transported to the hospital where it was determined she was not penetrated by a bullet projectile. It is possible the woman may have been injured by fragment; however, an investigation is ongoing to definitively confirm her injury. She was listed in stable condition.
