District 5 is investigating an attempt robbery that left a man shot on September 6 in the West End neighborhood.
Shortly after 11:20 p.m., officers received a call from a local hospital regarding a 27-year-old man that arrived with a gunshot wound to his arm. The man told officers he had left a residence in around 9:50 p.m. in the 1100 block of Hodiamont and was walking when he was approached by an unknown male in a black Chevy Impala. The 27-year-old said the unknown man exited the Impala and attempted to rob him of money at gunpoint.
The 27-year-old said he began running from the armed man when he heard a gunshot and was struck in the arm. He then called a relative who transported him to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
