District 2 officers were called to a local hospital around 12:30 a.m. on September 21, after a 26-year-old man showed up with a gunshot wound.
The man told officers he was driving somewhere in south St. Louis when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.
He told officers he went to a Quick Trip, possibly on Jefferson, and a security guard gave him a bandage. He then got into a vehicle that took him to the hospital. The man was listed in stable condition.
Officers went to the Quick Trip at 2600 Chouteau and spoke with a security guard who said a man had been there saying he was shot. The security guard provided the man with a bandage and offered to call police and/or an ambulance; however, the man refused the security guards offer and left in a vehicle.
The car the man drove to Quick Trip was still on the parking lot and was processed by ETU.
The investigation is ongoing. The exact location of the incident is unknown at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the South Patrol Division at 314-444-0100. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and/or is interested in a possible reward can call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
