District 4 is investigating a robbery that occurred around 3 p.m. on September 29 in the Near North Riverfront neighborhood.
A 26-year-old man told officers he was involved in a verbal altercation with a 51-year-old man and 47-year-old man near N. 2nd and Florida Streets. During the argument, the 26-year-old man said the 47-year-old man produced a firearm while the 51-year-old man pulled the 26-year-old man out of his car. The 26-year-old man said he was then physically assaulted by the 51-year-old man while the 47-year-old fled in the 26-year-old man’s car.
The 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital via private conveyance for treatment of lacerations to his head sustained during the assault. Officers were able to locate the victim’s car not far from the scene of the robbery. Both the 51 and 47-year-old men were taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
