District 3 is investigating a carjacking that happened at 10:00p.m. on December 13 in the 1500 block of Menard.
A 23-year-old man and 30-year-old woman told officers they were approached by a man wearing a black face mask and all black clothing. The man pointed a gun at them and demanded their belongings. The man then took the 30-year-old woman’s car and drove away.
Officers later recovered the cellphone and unoccupied vehicle around Hebert and Knapp.
The investigation is ongoing.
