On December 22, 2024, at approximately 2:23 AM, officers responded to an Accident with Injuries, involving a single vehicle on I-70 westbound at Carrie. When officers arrived, they located two adult females unresponsive inside the vehicle.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was driving westbound on I-70 when for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the right side of the highway, struck a light pole and a concrete barrier.
Both occupants were transported to area hospitals. The driver later died and the passenger is listed in critical condition. The Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating.
