UPDATE: On October 28, 2025, the Homicide Division was advised the 10-year-old boy died from his injury. An autopsy revealed the boy died from complications of being shot in May during the incident. He is identified as 10-year-old Richard Neal, III.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 9-year-old Jordan Neal.
Around 9:15pm on May 24, officers responded to an area hospital after a car arrived with multiple people shot inside.
A 32-year-old man, a 10-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy had all been struck by gunfire. The 9-year-old died from his injuries.
Officers initiated an investigation and discovered the shooting happened on Bircher near Ruskin.
Our detectives are working to determine a motive behind this senseless act of violence that has no place in our community.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and assumed the investigation.
