District 4 officers responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Peck after a resident reported shooting at a man who broke into his home.
The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. on July 14, when a 30-year-old man confronted a 21-year-old man who was inside his residence.
The 30-year-old man shot at the 21-year-old man, who ran out of the back door of the residence.
Officers located the 21-year-old man in the 4200 block of Blair with a gunshot wound. He was arrested and taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
