District 5 detectives are requesting assistance in the investigation into a November 2 shooting that injured two people after an event promoted as a Halloween party.
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Ridge Avenue (1300 Hamilton/5900 Ridge). When District 5 officers arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire. An 18-year-old female inside the vehicle had been shot in the wrist by gunfire.
Officers were then alerted to a 17-year-old male gunshot victim who showed up at the hospital for treatment.
Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Another victim arrived at the hospital to be treated for burn injuries caused by a cartridge casing.
A preliminary investigation reveals there was a Halloween party occurring at WareHouse West End, when an argument outside the event center broke out, which led to gunfire.
An investigation into the motive of the shooting remains underway.
