UPDATE: A further investigation into this incident revealed deceased suspect, Andre Jackson, and another 39-year-old male attempted to rob a victim in the 4900 block of San Francisco. During the robbery, the victim fired shots at Jackson and the 39-year-old man, striking suspect Jackson.
On August 29, 2025, the 39-year-old suspect was arrested. The case was reviewed by the Circuit Attorney’s Office who elected to issue charges against the 39-year-old man for Murder 2nd Degree, Attempt Robbery 1st Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
UPDATE: The male has been identified as 41-year-old Andre Jackson. His family has been notified.
District 6 officers responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of San Francisco just after 7 a.m. on August 12.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The age of the male is unknown at this time.
The male was taken to the hospital where he died.
