Homicide Investigating Stabbing Incident in Academy

Homicide Detectives are investigating a stabbing incident that left a man dead and two others injured on March 26, 2025 in the 5100 block of Maple Avenue.

Shortly before 8:35 p.m., officers received a call for a cutting at a residence at the location. Upon arriving, they located a 53-year-old man in a rear yard suffering from puncture wounds. Two additional persons at the residence, an adult male and adult female, were located suffering from cuts.

A preliminary investigation revealed the 53-year-old man reportedly forced entry into the residence and attacked the man and woman with a knife. The man was ultimately able to gain control of the knife and stabbed the 53-year-old man. An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident still remains underway.

EMS responded and pronounced the 53-year-old man dead at the scene. The man and woman were transported to the hospital for treatment and listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
