Homicide Investigation Underway After North Hampton Fire

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was discovered to have been shot inside his residence by firefighters.

On May 15, 2025, around 5:40 p.m., the St. Louis Fire Department was called to the 5000 block of Pernod for a structure fire. When they entered the building, they located an adult male inside the front room suffering from severe burns.

Firefighters removed the man from the residence, started lifesaving measures and realized the man had been shot. He was conveyed to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Around 7 p.m., District 2 officers were requested to the scene and and Homicide Detectives were then requested to respond. The investigation remains ongoing.
