Hyde Park Shooting in September Declared a Homicide

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 31-year-old man that happened on September 14 in the 2000 block of Bremen.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on September 14, officers received a call from fire officials relative to a “shooting” wherein a male located inside a vehicle not conscious or breathing, and with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. He has been identified as 31-year-old Stanley Fischer of the 200 block of Sheffield Ct., Fairview Heights, IL.

The Medical Examiner’s Office assumed the investigation pending autopsy results. On December 23, the Medical Examiner contacted the Homicide Division to advise the manner of death was officially declared “homicide.” The investigation remains ongoing.
