Officers assigned to District 4 responded to 6th and Locust around 9:15 p.m. on July 1 after being alerted by MetroLink to several juveniles firing electric gel blasters, very similar to airsoft guns, at another group firing gel blasters.
Officers found three 16-year-olds and a 19-year-old in possession of the gel blasters. A 17-year-old had extra gel ammo. A 16-year-old was found in possession of multiple roman candles.
One of the 16-year-olds was taken to Juvenile Detention for a probation violation. The other juveniles were taken to Central Patrol where they were released to their guardians. The 19-year-old was identified and released pending further investigation by detectives.
