Man Carjacked at Gas Station in College Hill, Suspect Arrested

District 6 is investigating a carjacking that happened at approximately 10 a.m. on April 6, 2025 at a BP Gas Station.

A 61-year-old man reported he had just pulled onto the BP Gas Station lot in the 200 block of E. Grand Avenue and parked at a pump. The man said when he exited his vehicle, a red colored Dodge Charger quickly pulled alongside him and a male suspect exited the Dodge with a firearm.

The 61-year-old man said the male suspect pointed the firearm at him and demanded his keys. The man said he dropped his keys and retreated, and the suspect picked up the keys. The suspect then entered the 61-year-old’s Chrysler 300 and fled from the scene. The 61-year-old was not injured during the incident.

A description of the 61-year-old man’s Chrysler was broadcasted over the dispatch radio. A 4th District officer spotted the Chrysler and the Dodge traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of I-70 & Tucker Boulevard. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens and pursued the vehicles south on Tucker.

The pursuit continued to the area of Tucker Boulevard & Chouteau Avenue and ended after the Chrysler crashed into a traffic signal box. The Dodge Charger got away. Two males exited the Chrysler and ran from the scene. One of the suspects, a 17-year-old male, was eventually apprehended in the 900 block of Lebanon Drive. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation and found to be fit for confinement. He was then taken into custody. The second suspect was able to get away.

An investigation revealed the red colored Dodge Charger that got away was taken in a carjacking earlier that morning in the 1300 block of Tower Grove Avenue. The investigation remains ongoing.
