Man Carjacked by Woman in Hamilton Heights

District 5 is investigating a robbery that happened on March 30, 2025 at Wells & Rowan Avenues.

Shortly before 5:45 p.m., officers received a call for a carjacking at the location. Upon arriving, they located a 70-year-old man who reported he was carjacked by two female suspects at 5:35 p.m.

The 70-year-old man told officers he was giving an unknown 21-year-old woman a ride to the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. The man said the 21-year-old woman told him to drive to Wells & Rowan. After arriving at that location, the man said the 21-year-old woman was accosted by one of the female suspects, a 39-year-old woman, who the 21-year-old woman knows.

The 70-year-old man said both of the female suspects assaulted the 21-year-old woman and when he attempted to intervene, the 39-year-old woman dragged him out of his car and assaulted him. The man said the 39-year-old woman then reached behind her back and indicated she had a firearm while demanding his car. The 39-year-old woman and the second female suspect then entered the man’s 2003 Ford Explorer and fled from the scene. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
