District 1 is investigating a carjacking that occurred during the early morning hours of August 9 in the Carondelet neighborhood.
Shortly before 3:25 a.m., officers were called to Fillmore Street & Minnesota Avenue for a carjacking. Upon arriving, they located a 20-year-old man who said he was delivering food at 3:15 a.m. in the 5900 block of Minnesota when he was approached by a male suspect. The victim said the suspect demanded his car keys at gunpoint. The victim complied and relinquished his keys. At that point, a second male suspect entered the victim’s 2013 Ford Focus and fled as the first suspect fled in a white sedan.
