District 6 is investigating after a 63-year-old man was carjacked on August 16 in the Fairgrounds neighborhood.
Around 1:20 a.m., officers were flagged down by the victim who reported that around 1 a.m., he was parked in the 4400 block of Athlone when a male suspect approached and opened his driver’s door. The victim said the suspect pointed a handgun at him and then ordered the victim to exit his vehicle. The suspect further demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and then the suspect entered the victim’s 2021 Dodge Ram along with two additional male suspects that entered the vehicle. The suspects fled.
