District 6 is investigating a carjacking that happened at the Mobile Gas Station in the 6000 block of N. Broadway.
A 35-year-old man told officers around 5:45 p.m. on January 61, he was robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect who he had previously encountered at the gas station shortly before the robbery. The 35-year-old said the suspect initially asked for his assistance with snow shoveling; however, after responding to an unknown area in the County with the suspect, the 35-year-old said he became suspicious and left the location to return to the gas station.
Once back at the gas station, the 35-year-old said the same suspect approached him and pointed a gun at him while demanding his car. The suspect then took the 35-year-old’s Nissan Rogue and fled from the scene, followed by another male in a Chevy Traverse.
The 35-year-old was not injured during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
